A poem I wrote for a friend I miss, because sometimes it's important to say, the things that we don't get chance to.

Sometimes it's important to say

The things that we don't, because life gets in the way

So I just thought that you should know

That I haven't forgotten you, you know.

I really miss the minutes, we once frittered away

Talking shop, in the shop all day

I miss your voice

I miss your smile

I miss working with you all the while.

More and more these days, I think of you

and ask myself what would you do.

You'll always be my second mum, please don't tell my real one

Because ever somewhere in my mind,

A smile can our shared memories find

To transport me to a brighter place,

Even on my darkest day.

The happy thoughts jar,

The fortune telling fish

Harry the spider and Jane Dilley's wish

You were at the heart of all these poems and more

So it continues of that you be sure.

Only I will ever know,

How sad I was to see those days go

Mostly though, I just miss you

All you are and all you do.
