Hey, thanks for taking the time to view this! This is the first real attempt at a story I have done, this is more of a prologue to the story I am working on. I am back and forth on writing and I want to see if others think I have a chance at writing or not before I seriously devote myself to it more. The goal of this is obviously to get the readers more interested in the actual book if I were to make it. I know it's not much, but thanks again for taking the time to read it!

I was walking along a dark alley, cursing my luck, when I saw a girl with crimson hair and a peculiar dress which seemed almost alive with an ocean of swimming stars. As I examined her I noticed she was just standing there, next to a bag, most likely waiting for someone. Based on her style of dress, I figured whatever was in there was worth something. I grinned, this looked like the break I finally needed. I crept towards her while attempting to contain my excitement. As I was a couple centimeters away from grabbing it... my hand was abruptly stopped short. I didn’t understand as to why, based on the lighting there was nothing there. Wait, where was the light coming from? The moon wasn’t out and there were no lamps in this area! That's when I slowly looked up and saw her hair had turned blue and her eyes blazed with rage. The dress' pattern began to swirl violently and a sudden blast of heat hit me. I was instantly thrown to the floor by the force, all the air rushed out of my body. Once I managed to breathe again, I began scrambling to get away. As all the color in my face drain and my eyes filled with fear, I managed to finally get up and run for my life, there was just no way she was human. As my feet pounded against the concrete I heard it call out "You damn mongrel! Get back here!" Refusing to look back, I ran for my life.
