The leaf falls slower and slower as the wind blows it away from the tree it came from

I watch as it goes, waiting for the moment it finally reaches it’s destination

I breathe slowly anticipating the long awaited end

I know it is coming, I know that soon it will all be over

For a moment is appears the leaf will finally touch when a bird swoops in

No matter how much the leaf wants it to be over the bird won’t let go

As the wind picks up the bird clings tighter and tighter

The bird knows the end is near but it will never let it happen

For once the leaf begins to want to stay in the air

It wants to keep going but the bird lands on the tree from whence the leaf came

The leaf welcomes the tree and longs to stay on

But then another wind comes and the leaf is blown off again

This time there was no warning, there was no time to help as the leaf goes lower and lower
