I'm in despair! My shoddy attempts at making English translations of anime openings have left me in despair! So, story time. Sometimes Madame Minuit likes to watch anime (as well as talk about herself in the third person, apparently). She also has zero knowledge of Japanese. She also really likes to sing along to the openings (which is a problem, seeing as they're in Japanese). As a result, she often tries to make up her own English lyrics. She decided to write down a few, if only for your amusement. Joyeux lire!

Hito Toshite Jiku Ga Bureteiru (As a Human, I'm Quite Shaky): English Version

Despair Girls: Shaky, shaky, shaky, shaky (x4)

Itoshiki Sensei: Late at night, I was up on the couch watching T.V.
Had nothing to do, so I sat, staring blankly.
I saw all the pretty people being praised.

DG:Those people don't shake, they're never, ever crazed.
How lovely!

IS:After all these years, I figured out why I can't seem to mirror them:
I shake down in my roots, and it shivers up into my stem.

Well then, grow a spine!
And say you're fine
'Fore you shake a- shake a- shake a- shake a- shake away.

Put an end to
This damned, trembling man of clay!

Tie a noose,
For this shaky, shaky man has nothing to lose.
But maybe I can change if you're with me?

DG:I've been here all along! Open your eyes and see.

Nichiyoubi no Taiyou (The Sunday Sun): English Version
Translated and adapted from the anime: Narutaru (aka Shadow Star)

Sitting at the place where you and I had promised to meet,
I saw several children playing blithely in the street.
They kicked a ball in an arc over my head for the world to see.
Now, if only you were here to shield and shelter me...

In that ball's shadow I felt crushed and couldn't breathe.
I was never strong like you, so I ran. Oh, how I wanted to leave!
The teasing of the others was an everyday sight to see.
But, if only you were here to shield and shelter me!

And as dear Mother Earth calmly and slowly turned,
She forgot all about me! They all left me behind!
And though the sun hid behind clouds, her rays still fiercely burned,
So I started walking home, and hoped you wouldn't mind.
