The Sure Thing.

I'm sorry, pet
I'm sorry, honey
I need to borrow
A bit of money.

You'll get it back
You can be sure
What you lend me
And some more.

I know I'll win
I just can't lose
There's no competition
From which to choose.

The odds are great
It's a sure thing
I'm going to pawn
My wedding ring

But this is wrong
I'm on my feet
This horse I backed
It can't be beat.

Now, what the hell!
I can't go back
My wedding ring
She'll see I lack.

I have to chance
A hand at poker
But what I'm dealt
It's a joker.

The wheel will do
I'll have a spin
There is no choice
I've got to win.

I've bet on black
But it's a red
I need a bullet
In the head.

Can't bet no more
I just can't pay
But I'll be back
Come next pay day.

And what'll I tell the Mrs
If she notices lack of ring
'I've been robbed, they took the lot!'
Explaining everything.
