the sun is shining brightly
but a cloud moves overhead
till shadows fill the borders
with a sense of pending dread
.
a shifting of the patterns
where your joy turns into pain
like sobs amidst the laughter
are the swells of summer rain
.
the sun is shining brightly
but a wind comes from the north
disturbing all the daydreams
till a nightmare has come forth
.
the goals you had envisioned
now too lofty to obtain
like dark chords in a love song
are the swells of summer rain
.
the sun is shining brightly
but a storm is coming fast
the isle on the horizon
has disappeared into the past
.
the blossoms of the springtime
are absorbed by winter's strain
like weeds in beds of flowers
are the swells of summer rain
