I wonder how so easily
You took my breath away
The good lord knows for he can see
In that one faithful moment when our eyes would meet
That you where destined to be loved by me and only me
Your presence gripped me and sent a fire deep within my darkened heart
It is then I knew the lover with whom you traveled
Would have to enter the afterlife with my knife through his heart
As the lord can attest
My heart bleeds for you and only you
So I would not have even imagined
My madness would cause you to flee farther than the eyes can see
Even under arrest I feel your soul within me
So I pray for you to return and let our love just be.
Now I languish in the gallows
A man in love condemned to die for all the world to see
Know that my heart will belong to you everlasting
And I pray the light of your smile will give me strength to break free
From the hangman noose set to drop at three
So I can fullfill my hope of finding you
And then you can be loved by me and only me
