I was sitting in my room reading a book. It was a rainy evening. I like the rain, it's peaceful. The phone rings. Its sharp ring penatrting the silence.

"Hello." I say.

"Hi." My boyfriend's voice says.

"Hey Justin what's up?" I ask.

"Not much, I just wanted to talk to you. I wanted to tell you I was sorry."

"For what?" I asked. What was he sorry for? He hadn't done anything.

"The fight we had the other day. It was my fault and I'm sorry."

"What? That wasn't anything. " I say, "Justin, is everything ok?"

"Yeah, yeah. Everything is fine. I have to go." He says.

"Ok, bye."

"Just one more thing, I love you. Don't forget that."

"Love you to." I say. He hangs up. I put the phone down and continue reading.

A couple days later, I stand reading the newspaper. Tears are streaming down my face. I can't stop them. He was gone. Maybe forever. Justin had been kidnapped on the night I had talked to him. Police were about to give up on the search. No. I couldn't let that happen. If no one would look for Justin I would. I grab my car keys and head out the door.
