I'm not sure how many people can relate to the message in this poem.
I suffer from anxiety and depression along with many other things. This is just a short poem I wrote the other day.

A Monster used to haunt me.

It hid beneath my bed.

The monster still does haunt me.

But now It hides within my head.

It tells me I am lost.

Never to be found.

It tells I’ll keep falling and I’ll never hit the ground.

The monster it still whispers when no one is around.

It screams my imperfections.

It shatters all my dreams.

It loves to watch me fall to pieces and break at all my seams.

Nothing I say is right.

Everything I do is wrong…

My constant state of torture is my monster’s favorite song.

And as I listen closely I realize I was the monster all along.

Lurking in the shadows hiding from the dawn.
