"The Grand One"

The grand one holds the keys to notes,

And passes them along.

In messages of kneaded sound,

It shapes them into songs.

And those who listen know so well

What they cannot figure out,

For what it claims to harken

Disinclines their every doubt.

So praised it is when out of tune,

For it seems to still appear

As something grander than it is,

And call it music to their ears.
