Nervous, with pride, he took his wife to hospital. The moon was among clouds. The night- dark and dull.

The operation theatre lit up. Its door closed. Her uterus contracted. Its muscles forced.

Patiently, frightened, praying, he waited outside. Inside, she screamed. She fought. She moaned. She cried.

***************

Covered, she lied, motionless; The child still in her. “A rare incurable pregnancy disease. We are sorry, sir.”

Everything was motionless. The room was dead. The three in there. No tear did they, now, shed.

Stood in the graveyard, their ‘bodies’ lied next to him. The dream, pride vanished. His life was, now, dim.
