the tale of the struggle of letting go

I can’t tell you how hard it’s been.

Trying to put the feeling I have for you to a bitter end.

All the while having your sister be one of my closest friends.

Wondering if you ask about me what she tells you.

Does she tell you im doing well?

Or does she tell you the truth how im putting myself through hell.

Does she tell you how it’s really been?

How I spent my last check on a little bit of food and the rest on meth and heroin.

How I got a box just so I can stay awake and watch the clock spin.

All the while we talk about you so in the end it’s you that came out with the win.

I’m sure after all the discussions about what was weathered she’s so tired of hearing the name heather.

I wish i could still walk around life lite like a feather but instead my heart is straining like an anvil hanging from the roof from which it’s tethered.
