her skin was like caramel, although it didn't taste sweet. it tasted like the sweat that poured off her as i ran my lips up her tender neck. it tasted like desperation as she ran her fingers through my hair. it tasted like love as she intertwined her fingers with mine and whispered to never leave her. even though she did not taste like the caramel her beautiful skin resembled, she was the best thing i had ever tasted.

i was in a bad place when she first came into my life. i was not completely here when she bumped into me as my thoughts wandered to other places. but she didn't seem to mind when i looked up at her, embarrassed with tears pooling in my eyes. empathy emanated off her. right there in the middle of this crowded street she took my hand and walked me to a small coffee shop. oh god, those hands. it seemed like they were meant for me, they fit perfectly into mine. they were soft like cotton and smooth like silk. i was so upset when she left go and practically floated onto the seat across from me. she asked me if i wanted anything. i mumbled that i didn't like coffee and she smiled a smile i have become so accustomed to seeing everyone single day. by the time she had come back with her drink i had already fallen in love with her. i knew this would be the person i would spend all of eternity with. she never asked if i was okay, she just talked to me as if nothing had happened and that we had known each other for ages. and as i stared into her brown eyes that completely consumed me i forgot all of my problems. as she told me her favorite things and memories of her childhood i forgot the world was such a ruthless thing. she made me forget the pain and remember the joy i used to feel when i read a good book or ate my favorite food. she has been my saving grace since the moment i met her and i thank whatever higher being is out there for blessing me with her every single day.
