Memories
Dredging through memories
Maybe was a mistake,
Shouldn't ever remember
It makes my heart ache.
What's done has been done,
Should be left in the past,
Should be buried down deep
And then held down there fast.
It is said that much learning
Can from these be done
That's not how it's working
I'm just coming undone.
'Just live for the future'
People do say
Maybe I would do so
If I could find a way.
Things I've remembered
I will try to forget,
Going back through my past
Has just caused me regret.

A good write, I enjoyed it. However, my Mother used to say, if you don't remember the past, then the same mistakes are bound to happen again. But she also said Brussels Sprouts were good. So who knows,? LOL.

Lovely poem. I wish I could stop remembering the bad things that I have done, or have been done to me. It's easier said than done.
