“Keep running” I told myself. My legs were weary, but I couldn’t stop.

I was running along the dark passageway in the old building trying to find an exit.

“You can’t escape” I heard a low voice echoing in my head.

Suddenly, I stumbled over something and fell down on the floor. My legs hurt. I couldn’t go on.

“Please leave me alone” I said. My eyes were still staring at the floor.

“You can’t escape yourself” The voice responded. I knew it was right there in front of me, but I did not dare to look up.

A few minutes later and no one spoke, it was completely silent. I heard no sound, just only my heart drumming. I couldn’t bear this forced silence any more.

I looked up.

What I saw looked like me, it was as if I was looking in a mirror, but I couldn’t admit that it was me. That thing was kneeling in front of me giving me an insane smile. I also saw bloodstains on its face.

“Who are you?”

It did not respond but giggled.

I did not say anything else. Instead, I swept my eyes over that dusty area. Then I found a rusty piece of metal lying on the floor. It has about one meter in length. One of its tips was sharp enough to use as a weapon.

“Who are you?” I decided to ask again.

“You know the answer” It finally replied.

I reached for the metal bar, and quickly pointed the sharp tip at that thing which was staring at me.

“Go away” I shouted. My hands were shaking.

“I won’t”

“Go away!” I shouted louder, ready to swing the metal bar.

“I can’t…”

At that moment the metal bar in my hand was in motion.

“… because I’m your reflection” That was the last word it said before the tip of the metal bar stabbed at its heart.

As soon as the pain ran through my body, I knew I would never escape.
