The air was stale and cold, as the snow fell in the night.  All was dead in the night.  The walls silent.  The floors silent.  This night wasn’t like any other night from the fearful silence, sept for one fearful screech over and over.

Curiosity arose in my throat; my ears burning to the sound.  Why was no one else wondering?  I walked down the silent hallway to a maid, but no sound did she hear.  What could this fearful sound be.  I walk at a slow common pace, so no alarm I would arouse.  Again the screech sounded off. Agian….. Agian... . Agian…. Agian….. My pace quickens with each blow to my ears, till I reach the silent door.

I pull on the large brass door knob that was etched with symbols I knew not how to read.  My slender pale foot reaches out to the damp brick street; that was yet to be covered with much white.  My white opaque gown flows through the piercing wind.  I spin looking out to the silent brick street, but nothing is all I see.  My ears ringing with the screech, what could this be?  I dash out into the street.  My body a ghostly dancer in the silent street.  The gas street lamps shadows haunt my sight.  Please be someone out here. The sound continues to haunt my ears till I reach the dock.

There laid a ghostly dancer- stain red.  I peer Into the empty blue eyes of the ghostly dancer.  The screeches have stopped.  This face, the slender pale foot blue from the damp brick streets.  I know this white opaque gown.

There she lays with the silent street- in the silent night.  Where no one heard her piercing screeches, on the night unlike any other night.
