Please oh please Penelope,

there are things that you should see,

above the clouds,

below the sea,

if you'd only be mine.

Making things to grow,

it must thunder and rain you know,

for that's the way it goes,

to hide the sun,

so it don't shine.

I think that if all of the girls,

all around the world,

held a candle or two,

then not a one of those girls,

anywhere in the world,

could hold a candle,

to you.

So after I picked the perfect flower,

from the stem it just died that hour,

and I didn't know why,

but love dies,

when you do.

Can you forgive me Penelope,

there are things that you could have seen,

above the clouds,

below the sea,

but they'll never be a time.

In order for things to grow,

it must thunder and rain you know,

but leave it grounded and then you go,

to uncover the sun,

so it can shine.

I thought that if all of the girls,

all around the world,

held a candle or two,

then not a one of those girls,

anywhere in the world,

could hold a candle,

to you.

But after picking the perfect flower,

from the stem it just died that hour,

and I didn't know why,

but love dies,

when you do.

So never pick the perfect flower,

from the stem cause it'll die that hour,

and you won't know why,

but love dies,

when you do,

love dies,

when you do,
