Chapter 13

"I don't think I've ever seen you nervous." Juliet was amused by Kerim's anxious leg movement.

He had picked her up from work and taken her out to dinner. Granted she was wearing her nurse uniform but it didn't matter because she was with him.

"I'm rarely nervous unless it's something important and it has to do with you."

"What is it?"

"Would you like to move in with me?"

She swirled her tea with the straw. "Move in? To your house?"

"Yes, if you'd like. We can get a place of our own too. It's up to you."

"I would like that." The corner of her mouth raised. "I'd like to move in with you at your house. It's big enough for all of us."

He grinned. "Alright, this is great. A big step."

"It is." She reached over to grab his hand. She took in a deep breath. "We're moving in together."

"When do you want to?"

"I'll have to talk with the landlord but I hope to do it as soon as possible. What did Dom say when you told him?"

"He was happy, said he wanted Katherine to move in with him too but he wants her to have a better relationship with Michael first."

Juliet sombered. "Are they still having problems?"

"Yes, he barely talks to her."

"He'll get over it. Sometimes men are over dramatic."

He grinned widely. "When am I ever over dramatic?"

"When you don't get your way." She giggled.

"You're the same way too."

"Yes but it's fair because I'm a girl."

He lifted her hand and kissed her knuckles. "You women get away with almost everything."

"At least Delilah, Katherine and I do. You guys love us too much."

"That we do."

"Can we change our order to go?"

"Because watching your lips on my skin made me hot for you."

"Did they now..." He caressed his lips down her finger and nipped the tip.

She shivered. "I want you naked and under me." She whispered.

"Hmm, I do love seeing you on top." He signaled for the waiter and ordered their food to go.

Honestly seeing her in the nurse uniform always turned him on. He probably had some fetish over it. It wasn't revealing at all but there was something about it.

Their food was put in boxes and given to them. He payed and they went out to his truck.

"Should we have gotten something for Dom and Katherine?" Juliet asked.

"Katherine is supposed to be at her own house tonight and Dom was still working with Ethan. He was going to take him out to the clubs and show him how to do the finances."

"Yes. I think he wants to add Ethan to the family business once he's married to Katherine. It's a great opportunity for the kid."

"It is. You're okay with that?"

"I am. It's only Dom and I. No one is going to be inheriting from my side. I don't know how many kids Dom and Katherine are planning on having. Ethan would be a great addition."

"Wonder if Avery's going to be alright with him being invested in the clubs."

"You think she's going to get back with him?"

"We're all hoping for a possibility."

They arrived at his house and he carried their food. He left it in the kitchen while Juliet greeted Precious and headed to his room.

She stripped and went to the bathroom to start the bath. She really needed to wash herself. She didn't like smelling like hospital.

She grabbed the rose smelling salts and petals Kerim kept for her under the sink. To think that soon she would have her own shampoo bottle and toothbrush next to his.

She liked the dark colors in the bathroom and bedroom. For that reason she was glad she wouldn't have to change anything.

"What are you doing?"

"I need to get cleaned up."

"Do you want me to join you?"

"Of course."

He took off his clothes. She slipped into the tub and he followed suit. She leaned back against him and sighed.

Nothing beat being in the hot water with an even hotter male.

He grabbed the loofah and put body wash on it. He slowly dragged it over her limbs. It felt heavenly to her.

"Do you remember the day I injected you unconscious?"

She frowned. "How could I forget."

"I bathed you that night when we got back."

She opened her eyes. "Seriously?"

"Yes. You needed it and I was the only one that could do it. I took my time and cared for you. I even dried your hair with a towel."

She softly ran her fingers over his leg. "That's kind of creepy."

"I know."

"Yet at the same time sweet. You loved me by then."

"I did. I realized that too late but I loved you then. That's why I wanted to mark you mine. I was afraid to lose you. I still did but I have you now."

"You won't lose me again. I promise."

He continued to bathe her and washed her hair. She relaxed as he did everything. Then it was her turn to wash him.

She turned and kneeled in front of him. She washed him throughly. Kissed him while she washed his hair.

She found it to be as relaxing as when he was cleaning her.

They got out of the tub and dried off.

"I'll be glad to have my hair dryer here."

He helped dry her hair with a towel. Once it was somewhat to her agreement they went to bed naked.

"Now why did we come home right away?" She smiled sweetly beside him.

"I'll remind you." He grabbed her and pulled her over him.

She laughed as she was reminded.

"When do you think we'll finally start cooking?" Ann sighed.

Their class was over and for once in months they had the same afternoon off.

"Soon I hope. I'm itching to start the new techniques in class."

"Let's make some desserts of our own then." Adam suggested from Avery's comment. "We can start practicing."

"That sounds like an excellent idea. We can go to the store before we get home."

"I'm up for it." Avery agreed.

They got a taxi to take then to the market. Avery grabbed ingredients to make croissants. She was going to add chocolate inside them and put sliced almonds on the top.

Ann wanted to make eclairs and Adam was going to make macaroons.

"We'll take the ingredients up to our apartment. Just grab your pjs. You can shower at our place." Ann told Avery when they stopped on her floor.

She was quick to get some sweat pants and a big t-shirt. When she got to the apartment Ann opened the door.

She promptly let her in. "Adam is taking a shower. You can go in after him."

Avery waited in the living room for him to come out of the restroom. He was fast to shower and came out with a towel wrapped around his middle.

He was a very good male specimen. He smirked when he saw her checking him out.

"Do you see something you like?"

"Not personally but I can't say you're not good looking."

He shrugged. "Worth a try. Bathroom's all yours."

She showered and then surrendered the bathroom to Ann. While she showered Avery prepared the dough for the croissants.

Adam turned on the tv and put it on a food channel. He started making his macaroons.

When Ann came out she went straight for her eclair dough.

They worked comfortably for the next couple of hours. Avery liked when they hung out together. It was fun to get to know them better.

"How's it going with Ethan?" Ann asked her when they finally took a break.

Adam's macaroons were cool as were Ann's eclairs. Avery's croissants were still on the rack.

"Good I think. We talk once a week, as I do with Katherine. We're working on everything."

"That's good."

"Not good for me." Adam pouted. "Thought I would have you all to myself."

Ann rolled her eyes. "You can't have every single girl you see."

"I can try." He winked at Avery.

She giggled. "I think I'll stick with one guy at a time."

"I want to meet this Ethan one day. See what's so great about him."

"He's sweet for one." Ann stuck her tongue out at him. "And way hotter."

"You haven't met him either."

"Avery showed me pictures from her phone. He's super cute, he might get me to like guys." She joked.

"That would be a miracle." He laughed.

Avery plated the croissants and they ate their creations in front of the tv.

"Do your savory food come out as good at your desserts?" Adam asked after they watched an episode of a chef preparing a seafood platter.

"Mine do." Avery answered.

"Mine don't. You remember the time I tried to make baked fish."

"That stuff was gross." Adam grimaced. "Can't believe I even tried it. I still struggle with cooking sometimes, I don't know why."

"Guess you both should just stick to desserts. These are delicious." Avery took another macaroon from the plate.

"Thank you." Adam bit into the croissant. "Yours came out good too."

"Thank you. We should do something new every week."

"That's a great idea and we'll definitely do that." Ann readily agreed.

They enjoyed the rest of their evening in front of the television.

This had been a fun night for Avery. She and Ann got comfortable in her bed after it was really late.

Ann yawned and smiled. "I'm so tired. I hope you're comfortable being in bed with me."

"Why wouldnt' I?"

"You might think that I'll take advantage of you." She teased.

"I know you won't."

They got under the covers.

"Did people bully you in school because of your preference?" Avery was curious about that.

"Some tried but Adam always had my back."

"That must've been nice."

"It was. We also had friends that didn't mind at all. You realize who you're true friends are when you go through tough times. I wouldn't change who I am for anyone. Boys can be idiots, just look at Adam."

Avery laughed. "He's way too much of a flirt."

"He is but he's sweet when he wants to be. I can't wait until he finds the girl that puts him in his place."

"That'll be a sight to behold."

Ann turned off the lamp. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight Ann. See you in the morning."

When Avery woke up Ann was pulling on her shirt. "I'm going to make some coffee. There's leftover treats from last night to go with it."

"I'll be out as soon as I get ready."

Ann closed the door and left her to change.

She put on her clean clothes and stuffed her things into her bag. She took out her toothbrush and toothpaste to brush her teeth in the restroom.

Adam was still in his room when she went into the small kitchen.

"I slept wonderfully, thank god you don't snore." Ann smiled brightly.

Avery grabbed a cup and filled it with coffee. "I'm glad I don't snore either. I slept good too and without any dreams. Guess I was exhausted from everything yesterday. I'm so not ready to go to class."

"Today is a short day. You'll have time to rest before work."

"I have to catch up with my friends. It's my time to call them and see what's been going on."

"I should call my parents too."

They finished their light breakfast. Adam finally came out of his room and grabbed the last croissant.

"Class is in half an hour." He told them.

"We know, we've been awake dum-dum." Ann smiled sweetly.

He rolled his eyes. "I was simply informing you like I always do."

"Thanks." Avery said to him. "We're ready to go."

"Alright, another day for school." Ann sighed and grabbed her purse.

Time was flying by for Avery and yet going slowly at the same time. She smiled at the thought of calling Ethan later. She felt they were at a good place.

She followed Ann and Adam out the door. She was ready for another day.
