Chapter 33

"How are you feeling about the wedding?" Kailie asked Katherine at breakfast.

She had spent the weekend with Dom and now it was Monday. It was her first morning at home and she only had four left after this one.

"Nervous but ready. Everything is ready. We just have to drive down on Friday."

"I can't wait to see you in your dress. You're going to look absolutely beautiful."

"Thanks mom. I'm anxious about this, hoping that everything goes well without a hitch. How nervous were you when you got married?"

"I was very nervous to begin my life with your father. Many times I thought if I was doing the right thing. One look at you and it reinforced it. I loved your father more than anyone. You were the gift that came from that love. I don't regret it at all. Although sometimes he makes me doubt when he's an ass but he's a man." She shrugged.

Katherine giggled. "I don't know if I've ever gotten mad at Dominik. He's not a jerk either."

"Guess that's why you fell in love with him. You needed someone like him. He shows no restraint when it comes to you. He shows the world what he feels for you and for that I like him. He's my favorite person and someone I love seeing you with. I'll love him as a son-in-law. Even if he is a lot older than you." Kailie teased.

"Back to that again are we?"

They had a good laugh and finished their breakfast.

"I have an idea. How about you and I spend the whole day together? We can go to the mall, get mani and pedis. Have a mother and daughter day." Katherine suggested as they cleaned up.

"I would love that. You're almost a married woman and I didn't get to enjoy you much."

"Good. Let's go get dressed and have our girly day."

They went shopping and got their nails done. Katherine loved this time with her mom and cherished it.

The bodyguards followed them around but they were so unnoticible that she was able to enjoy her day.

For dinner they grabbed some take out and joined her father at home.

He didn't say anything mean about Dom and that made Katherine happy. It was turning out like it all should. In a few days she would get married and start her life with Dom.

She smiled as she listened to her father's day.

"Thanks for helping me arrange the room. I didn't know Daniel had already bought everything." Delilah rocked herself in the comfortable rocking chair he had bought her.

Juliet put up the frame with Bethany's name on it.

"Well considering I'm doing everything you should be thankful." Juliet smiled slightly.

She had her appointment in the morning and she felt a little better. She had always had her appointments and had only stopped them when she got shot and the family trips at the island.

It seemed she would forever need them but it was well worth it for her not to have emotional breakdowns or act out of it.

Kerim hadn't been home most of the weekend. It was either that or he had hidden out in his room.

She hadn't seen him and she was missing him. She was always tempted to go to his room and tell him that they could work it out together.

They would of course but after they worked one on one alone.

She looked at the ring on her hand and her smile brightened.

Delilah grinned as she kept looking at her. "It'll work out. He's a good guy and he loves you. It's just that your inner psycho brings out his and vice versa."

"I can't believe I let my pride get in the middle of it."

"It happens."

"I know and I love him. I don't want to lose him and so I have to humble myself."

"You just have to ignore yourself when you get embarrassed. It's okay and don't worry about it." Delilah shrugged. "We embarrass ourselves all the time."

Juliet looked around the half pink, half blue room. The cribs were in and so were the dressers. She needed to put the wall decals up.

Daniel had bought some sport ones for Lincoln and princess ones for Bethany.

"What if it turns out that Bethany's a tomboy and Lincoln is more of a metrosexual."

Delilah snorted. "Oh god that would be funny. You always have to find the pessimistic side of everything."

"I'm a realist." Juliet chuckled. She stuck the wall decals and looked back at her work.

"It's perfect. All we have to do now is wait for these to pop out."

"You still have another month and a half or more right?"

"Yes, at least I hope. I heard that with twins you can go into labor sooner though."

"Can't wait to see you screaming at how much you're going to want to rip Daniel's head off."

"Oh that is definitely what's going to be happening."

The doorbell rang downstairs.

"That must be Avery and Ethan. They're trying to decide the best place to get an apartment."

"Have they tried where we used to live?"

"Yes but there are none available. Do you think you could go open the door while I try to get out of this thing?"

"Doesn't she have a key?"

"You're right. Help me instead."

Juliet helped her get out of the chair. Avery and Ethan were entering when they were going down the stairs.

"Hello sister dear. How are you?"

"Tired. I woke up early after sleeping late last night."

"Don't want to know what you were doing." Delilah wiggled her eyebrows.

"We did nothing. We haven't since we've gotten here. That's one of the reasons why we want to find a place soon and can't wait until Katherine's wedding. Since we're all getting rooms at the hotel close to the planetarium...well we got one."

"When are you going to come live here permanently?"

"When I come back for christmas. I'm going to stay here."

"What about your friends? Aren't they looking around too?"

"Ann is and Adam is opening up to the idea."

"I'd rather he stay in Paris. That's my opinion." Ethan shrugged and sat down on one of the couches.

"I see you're still jealous of him." Delilah teased.

"I'm not jealous, I just don't like him with her all the time."

"Anyway," Avery rolled her eyes, "we wanted to know what you had found."

"I found a couple and I called. It depends how much you want to pay for an apartment."

"I'm going to be working with mom at the restaurant."

"Dom is going to pay me partly since he is already paying for my college education."

"We can live with that for now. We don't need anything big. A small one room would be nice." Avery took hold of Ethan's hand. "That's all we need."

"I agree."

"Good, then there's only two places you should look at. They are nice but not too glamorous that you won't be able to afford it." Delilah grabbed her phone. "I'll send you a text with the numbers."

"Thanks for this." Avery told her.

"You're welcome."

"How are you doing?" Avery turned to Juliet. She had been quiet and only listened.

"I'm okay for now I guess."

"Kerim loves you and you love him. He has made some mistakes but he tries to get better each time. I admire that and you will be together again, soon."

"Thank you." Juliet smiled in appreciation.

"Have you seen the ring he gave her?" Delilah signaled to Juliet's hand.

Avery's eyes widened. "He gave you a ring? You're engaged? I thought you were taking a break."

"We are and it's more like a promise ring." Juliet showed Avery her hand.

"That looks like an engagement ring." Ethan looked at it.

Avery nodded. "It does. I'm more than happy for you. I'm telling you that you'll be better in no time."

"What have you guys been doing since thanksgiving?" Delilah started to change the subject.

"We've been mostly spending it with our family. We did go the movies alone though." Avery answered. "Then today is the first day we've actually spent together."

"We went out to eat and to the mall. Avery had to buy a dress for the wedding." Ethan elaborated.

"Can you believe that it's already here? I remember when Katherine announced it and now she's already going to be Mrs. Moreau. The first one."

"It has been a crazy year." Juliet sighed.

"It has but it will change. We'll make it change." Ethan put his arm around Avery.

"It will change once Frederick is caught. I don't like him being free and sneaky. Freaks me out a little." Avery sighed.

"Maybe once Katherine is married he'll back off. He won't have accomplished whatever it was he wanted to do." Delilah didn't look convinced.

"Let's hope so." Juliet tried to agree. "Now, let's make our plans for the wedding day. In what order are we going to get our hair and make up done after Katherine?"

They spent the rest of the evening talking about the wedding.
