Chapter 36

"Oh." Ethan bit down on his lip to try not to laugh. "I think Juliet got tired of the break." He teased Kerim.

Kerim had been busy making sure that everyone had gotten paid. He had no idea what Ethan was talking about. "What are you talking about?"

"She's kissing Ann or rather it's the other way around."

Thinking that he had heard wrong he turned to see what Ethan was talking about. Indeed Juliet was kissing a blonde.

"Ann's nice too. She could easily replace you."

Kerim shot him an annoyed look and went to the two girls. Juliet was already pulling away, her eyes wide in shock.

"I'm not...I don't like you...like that."

"Oh my god, I'm sorry, it's just you didn't fend me off on my flirting." Ann told her.

"You were flirting with me?" Juliet was completely confused.

"You didn't notice her flirting with you?" Kerim asked after he heard her.

"Kerim...I...she kissed me." Juliet defended herself.

"Who's this?" Ann arched her brow and looked him up and down.

He frowned. "I'm the groom's brother and Juliet's fiance."

"You're my fiance?"

"Yes." He looked at Juliet.

"She doesn't even know if you are or not." Ann giggled. "I don't think you are. Anyway, I'm sorry, I thought you were giving me the go ahead." She shrugged. "Guess not. Damn, I'll have to try elsewhere."

Ann walked off and entered the reception.

Juliet shook her head and turned to Kerim. "I'm your fiance? Really? I thought we were on a break."

"It didn't mean that you had to go and make out with a woman." He smirked amused.

"I was not making out with her. She caught me by surprise. She was so nice. She got me a glass of champagne, complimented the way I looked and helped me fix my hair...oh geez, she was hitting on me. I didn't notice because she was a girl."

He wanted to laugh but remembered the last time she got embarrassed about something. "It was nothing. She apologized. Come on, I think you owe me a dance."

She let him lead her back to the party. He put his hands on her hips and she put hers around his neck. They danced slowly to the music.

"How was it?"

"How was what?"

"To kiss another girl. Is it different from a guy?"

"It was unexpected and odd. I guess I'm not attracted to girls."

"Good."

"Why do you say that?"

"Because that means I have you all to myself."

She smiled. "You'll always have me all to yourself. I am supposedly your fiance even if we're on a break."

"I know it doesn't make sense but it does to me."

"I'm telling you one thing Kerim. All bets are off tomorrow. I will crawl into your bed and I will have a right because I'm your fiance. I want to consummate our engagement."

"I think that only works when you're married."

"I don't care. I can't stand to be away from you."

"I don't.."

"Don't start with that crap. You're hurting me more by not being with me."

He couldn't stand to see her eyes so emotional. Instead of saying anything else he held her tighter against him and looked away.

He would have to find a way to make her understand.

"Turns out I think I met your cousin Juliet." Ann smacked her lips as she walked back to Avery.

"I tried to warn you but you were too far. How did that go?"

"I got a kiss out of it but that's it."

Avery looked at her surprised. "You got a kiss?"

"Mouth to mouth yes, then her fiance showed up."

"Fiance?"

"Some guy, oh they're dancing right now."

"Oh Kerim. Right, I forgot he gave her the ring. What did she say?"

"She didn't know she was engaged. Anyway, I think I'm going to head out. Adam was supposed to come with me but he looks entertained."

He was with some chick talking and laughing.

"Thanks for coming and don't forget that we leave early monday morning."

"I won't forget. This was a great wedding. I'll see you monday." Ann hugged Avery goodbye.

Avery watched her leave and then went to find Ethan. He was with Katherine talking about something.

"Well Mrs. Moreau I think we're going to take our leave. We had cake and we danced, now I want to take your cousin and take advantage of him."

"Gross but okay." Katherine laughed. "Thank you for coming. I probably won't see you guys again until after our honeymoon. We're leaving tomorrow early."

"You better have fun and enjoy that handsome husband of yours." Avery told her whole heartedly.

"I will. I'm going to go find him and see if we get this wrapped up. It's already getting late." Katherine looked around.

"We'll leave you then." Ethan gave her a one armed hug.

"Thanks you guys." She walked off when she spotted her husband.

He was talking with some business associates and excused himself when he saw her.

"Sweetheart." He pecked her on the lips.

"I want to take you back to our room." She whispered.

"We will be going. The caterer is picking up and cleaning crew starts in half an hour. Guests are already leaving. We'll be in our suite before you know it."

"Good. Can't wait." She kissed him again. "I'm going to go mingle and shoo everyone out."

He chuckled as he watched her go around.

The party started dissipating as people left. The cleaning crew started to clean and so the families went back to their hotel.

One by one they stopped at their floors and to their rooms. Dom and Katherine went all the way up to their suite.

He unlocked the door first with the keycard and then picked her up.

She squealed and held on to him. He set her down once they were inside.

The room was in a glow from the lamp lights. There was a bucket with a champagne bottle and glasses.

Dom frowned. "They were supposed to put that in ice."

"Oh well, we can drink it like that."

"It tastes horrible warm. I'll get some ice from down the hall." He took out the bottle and grabbed the tin bucket.

"In the mean time I'm going to get comfortable. Can you please undo the buttons before you leave?"

"Can you wait?"

She arched her brow. "The champagne is going to need to chill before we can drink it. In the meantime we can start our night in bed."

"In that case I will gladly undo the buttons on your dress."

He undid them all to her lower back. He kissed her exposed skin making her shudder.

"I'll be back with the ice."

She bit her lip. "Hurry."

He closed the door after him.

Katherine sighed and went to the bedroom. The bed had rose petals. She smiled at what she was about to do on that bed.

Slipping out of her dress she put on the silk robe she had in her suit case. She stood in front of the mirror and started to undo her hair.

A man came out from the dark bathroom and stood behind her, watching her every move.

The skin on the back of her neck prickled. She raised her eyes and saw him through the mirror.

"Hello Katherine."

"Frederick."
