Chapter 43

Avery set the last plate into the cabinet. They hadn't bought a lot of dishes, just basically had two of everything in their apartment. Except for glasses, there were eight.

"All done?" Ethan wrapped his arms around her from behind and laid his chin on her shoulder.

"Yes. How did it go with making the bed?"

"We did a good job."

"We did and now it's his turn to help us with the furniture." Adam came into the kitchen.

"I'm coming too don't worry." She told him.

Ethan let her go, letting her turn around and grab her purse.

The apartment complex where Ann and Adam had found an apartment was a couple of blocks down. She went walking while the guys got into Adam's newly purchased truck.

She went up the stairs while the guys parked in front. Ann was putting away dishes and anything in the kitchen.

"Thank god you're here. Once the guys get the furniture up I can put my clothes away in my new dresser."

"I'll help you will all of that. Our apartment is ready. We should order pizza and eat it here that way you can sleep comfortably in your bed."

"That would be awesome."

The guys put in Ann's furniture in first per her request. Avery helped her put away her clothes and fix the room to Ann's liking.

It was late by the time they finished.

Ann ordered the pizza while Avery went down the street to the corner store and got some sodas.

Adam got the cable connected and they were able to watch something before the pizza got there. They watched a show as they ate.

When they were done they picked up and left the living room clean.

"Thanks for helping us." Ann told them as they said goodbye.

"Adam helped us so we returned the favor." Avery gave her a hug. "Don't forget that class starts up next week."

"I won't forget and merry christmas."

"That was last week."

"I know but we were too busy with packing up that we forgot."

"I'll see you tomorrow at Delilah's place."

"Right, the new year's get together. I wouldn't miss it for the world. I think I need a little down time. Will there be girls?"

"No, only family."

"Darn."

"I'll see you."

"Bye. Thanks Ethan."

"It was nothing."

Adam gave him a curt nod as a thank you and goodbye.

Avery hooked her arm with his. It was cool out as they walked back to their place.

"I'm glad you and Adam didn't argue today."

"We ignored each other mostly."

"It's a big step for the both of you."

"I guess."

"Don't be a grump Ethan. We're finally here together and living at our own place. Doesn't that make you excited."

"It does. I'll be able to spend every single night with you."

He opened the door for her before closing it. They went up the steps and inside their new home.

"It came out good. Do you want to take the first shower or me?"

"I'm going in and you might be able to join me." She smiled seductively at him.

"What would I have to do to be able to take a shower with you?"

"Kiss me." She raised her face to his.

"I think I can comply." He kissed her deeply. His hands wandered down her body and gripped her bottom.

She moaned into his mouth and walked backwards pulling him with her. She led them to the bedroom.

Delilah rocked Bethany to sleep before laying her in her crib.

She turned on the baby monitor before leaving the room.

"Are they finally asleep?" Katherine smiled at her as she sat on the couch.

"Yes. Bethany's the one with the problems. I swear she got it from Daniel." Delilah joked.

Daniel shook his head. "I say it comes from you."

"Whoever's fault it is, I still think they are the cutest babies I've ever seen." Avery broke them up.

"You would say that, you're the aunt. Wait until you have your own babies." Juliet told her.

"We're all going to have good looking babies. We're all attractive." Ethan shrugged. "It's the way with genes."

"I agree that your babies are going to be precious." Kerim got up. "Anyone want a refill on hot chocolate?"

"I do." Juliet handed him her mug. "Thanks."

"This has been a weird year and I'm wishing for a better one." Katherine sighed after a moment.

"Every year has had something going on." Dom agreed. "I think this is our year that changes everything. We're all getting married and starting families. Do you agree?"

Everyone nodded their heads.

Kerim came back from the kitchen with the hot chocolate. "I say we drink to making this the best year for starters."

They all raised their mugs and drank.

"Are we going to watch the movie now?" Ann asked. She had been quiet along with Adam. They were sitting on the floor.

"Yes." Avery had brought over the 'New Year's Day' movie.

Delilah turned on the dvd and it started.

Juliet cuddled up with Kerim. He kissed her temple. "Only two more months and then we're on the island about to get married." He whispered.

"My dad is so not happy but at the moment I don't care. I'm excited and happy. Every emotion is running through me."

"I can't wait."

"Wait until you see me in my wedding dress. You won't be able to keep your hands off me."

"I already can't."

She licked her lips as she looked into his eyes. "I happen to have the same problem."

"Good." He pressed his lips to hers in a gentle kiss.

"Are you two love birds done?" Katherine nudged Juliet.

"Not even close." Juliet giggled. "You were this way with Dom before you got married."

"Well yeah, it's all the before wedding bliss."

"I get it."

"Then your first month of marriage only gets better until reality hits. I have to go back to school in a week and Dom's working already. Which is why I'm bored most of the time."

"You've only been back two days."

"I know but I always need to be doing something. What about you? Are you going back to work?"

"Not to the hospital but I am applying in clinics. Something part time for me to be able to spend time with Kerim our first year of marriage. After that we'll see."

"It always helps to have a plan."

"Just like Dom said we're going to make this year our best. Plan everything before it goes to the crapper."

Katherine laughed. "I get it. Now let me watch the movie. You and Kerim can make out all you want in the privacy of your bedroom."

"We are definitely going to do that."

They watched the movie and spent the night talking while drinking hot chocolate. Since Ann and Adam didn't have a special other they didn't do the kiss at the strike of midnight. They hugged instead.

Everyone said goodbye, leaving Daniel and Delilah alone.

They held hands as they went to check up on the twins.

"Can you believe how tiny they are?" Daniel whispered.

"Yes and they still hurt coming out." Delilah pulled him back out before he woke them up. She had roughly about an hour before they would wake up to eat again.

They did their night routine and got in bed. She put the baby monitor on the stand to hear it when the babies woke up.

She put her arm around Daniel's stomach and laid her head on his chest.

"Thank you." He kissed the top of her head.

"For what?"

"For making me the happiest man alive. You are an amazing wife and you gave me not one but two babies at once."

"It was a two for one sale." She giggled.

"I love you."

"I love you too. Now let me sleep for a bit before I have to wake up and feed your babies."

"I thought grouchiness was only when you were pregnant?"

"Oh it keeps on going since I'm a mommy now."

He sighed. "Great." He turned off the lamp lights and got comfortable, keeping Delilah snuggled against him.

"Goodnight babe."

"Goodnight."
