Chapter 44

Watching everything come together for her wedding made everything real for Juliet. The last couple of months flew by. Before she knew it she was boarding the plane to get to the island.

The chairs were being put up as she looked out from her uncle Ben's house.

"Nervous?" Athena came up behind her and rubbed her back.

"A little bit. How's dad?"

"Upset but he'll get over it in a decade or two."

"Nice." Juliet smiled at her. "Am I doing the right thing mom? Did I make the right choice?"

"You're not second guessing are you?"

"I don't think so. It's all just happening so fast."

"Do you love him?"

Juliet nodded. "I love him with all my heart."

"Then if you don't run off before walking down the aisle you're doing the right thing because it's what you want."

"That would really be something. Thanks mom."

"Anything for my little girl. I'm going to make sure your dress and your shoes are still in my room. I don't want your dad trying to hide them."

"He wouldn't do that would he?"

Athena looked back at her. "I have no idea but tell Kerim to sleep with one eye open."

"I'll tell him. He's going to stay at uncle Nate's."

She nodded. "Nate will make sure he walks down the aisle, don't worry."

"I'm not worried about him. He's been wanting to get married since forever."

"I'll see you later for dinner."

Juliet waved to her mom and turned back to look outside. The crew had everything done and were getting on the boat.

"Big day tomorrow. I just spoke to Daniel and the guys are out at the batting cages. What should we do other than drink? I can't because I'm breastfeeding." Delilah said from behind her.

"I think there might be some white wine for me to drink. You can have sparkling cider with Avery and Katherine."

Delilah stuck her tongue out. "At least there's cake."

"Hey, that's for my wedding tomorrow." Juliet narrowed her eyes at her.

"Relax. Avery did the big cake for the wedding and the small one for us. She knew we would end up wanting some before."

"In that case let's eat cake."

Delilah called Katherine and Avery up the stairs. She went to the kitchen and took out the wine glasses. The girls came down.

"I was just talking to Dom and they're having fun."

"Great, I want Kerim to be relaxed for the tomorrow."

"He looks as cool as a cucumber. I think you're the one that needs to relax." Avery grinned at Juliet.

"You're chocolate cake should help with that." Delilah said. She set down the small cake in front of them. "Juliet should do the honors since she's the one getting married."

Avery grabbed a knife from a drawer and handed it to her.

Juliet sliced into the cake and served it into the plates. Katherine served the wine and the cider and soon they had their own things.

"There is nothing that beats wine and cake." Juliet closed her eyes in delight after her bite of chocolate cake. "This is delicious Avery."

"Thank you. Hopefully all my creations will be this tasteful and I'll be able to open my own bakery with Ann."

"I've had some of her sweet treats. She's great too." Delilah ate her cake.

Katherine nodded in agreement. "You guys together would have a great bakery running."

"Thanks for the encouragement. It's a definite possibility in a couple of years."

"I'm guessing after Ethan and you get married." Katherine wiggled her eyebrows.

Avery blushed. "Definitely after."

They chatted as the time passed and dinner was approaching.

Juliet sighed as they picked up and headed for her dad's house. In no time she would be walking down the aisle.

Juliet paced the room she was in. She was completely ready to walk down the aisle yet she couldn't walk out the door.

Katherine walked in after a quick knock.

"What are you doing? You were supposed to be downstairs five minutes ago."

"I don't know if I can do this."

"Please tell me you're still under the effects of Frederick's drug." Katherine put her hands on her hips.

Juliet put her hand on her chest. She could feel how fast her heart was beating.

"Your father is looking very smug downstairs. Also for the first time Kerim looks extremely nervous. Now, why do you think you can't do this? Do you not love the man?"

"I do."

"Do you want to spend forever with him?"

"Yes."

"Then what's stopping you?"

"I don't know."

"That is not an excuse to have that man standing at the altar doubting whether you love him enough or not. So you better get your butt downstairs or I'm going down there to tell them your canceling. Actually you know what, there's no way for you to get off this island so you're going to have to face them and give Kerim a legit reason of why you're not marrying him."

"When did you get so mean?"

"When I see my friends acting like idiots. Is there going to be a wedding or not?"

Juliet chewed her lip. She went to the bed and grabbed her bouquet. "If I can walk down the aisle without making a run for it, it's meant to be."

"I say if your willing to forgive the man for shooting you then it's worth it."

Juliet gave her a look.

"I'm just saying, we've all forgiven him. He loves you and you love him. Be happy, you both deserve it."

"Come on. I'm ready." Juliet took a deep breath and let it out slowly.

"Good. Everything looks amazing by the way. You're going to love it."

They left the bedroom and walked down the stairs.

"One piece of advice. As you're walking down the aisle look at Kerim and everyone else will disappear. It's an incredible feeling knowing you're going to be his and he's going to be yours."

Juliet smiled. She did like the idea of that.

Lucifer frowned when he saw her. "I thought you weren't going to show."

"I talked her out of it Mr. Phillips." Katherine smiled sweetly.

"Great." He turned back to Juliet. "You're doing this then?"

She nodded.

"I'm going to go sit down. Don't worry, I'm going to signal Avery to start the music."

"Thanks Katherine."

She went out the back doors and left them open. The fresh air came in.

Juliet walked up to her father as 'You are mine' from Spencer Combs started playing outside.

She took her father's arm and stepped out together.

The families were seated and all turned to her.

Instead at looking at all of them she focused on Kerim. She stopped at the beginning of the aisle and stared at him.

His eyes were nervous but he gave her a reassuring smile.

Her mouth quirked up in a small smile. They started walking again. When they reached Kerim, Lucifer turned to her and kissed her on the forehead before leaving her.

Kerim offered her his hand which she took in hers. They turned to face the man that was going to officiate.

Juliet's nerves dissipated throughout the ceremony. They said their vows and put each other's rings on.

The moment they were announced husband and wife Kerim pulled her into his arms to kiss her. It was brief.

She wrapped her arms around his neck as he leaned his forehead against hers.

"Planning to run off on me?" He chuckled lightly.

"I thought about it but there was nowhere to hide as Katherine pointed out." She grinned.

"I would've chased you."

"I know and although it would've been fun it wouldn't have been fair. I love you Kerim and I was nervous."

"There was reason to be but we're married now. It's over."

"Thank god. I'm not nervous anymore."

"I can see that. Now let's go eat, I'm starving."

"Me too."

Everyone was already standing up since they had taken a while to talk.

Juliet looked over the families. It was more like one big family now. The only ones left to marry were Avery and Ethan. The way they were she didn't doubt that it would be next year.

She laced her fingers with Kerim's. Smiling they stepped down and began their future.
