Riding Out The Storm.

The storm clouds they are brewing,
You can see them everywhere,
The tension is extensive
As it crackles through the air.
There doesn't seem to be escape,
You'll have to ride it out
But it's going to be quite hard,
A struggle, there's no doubt.
It's starting with a rumbling,
That turns into a roar,
Dodging lightnings flashes,
An almost lethal chore.
The eye of the storm is coming,
It brings with it some calm,
A chance for you to look around,
Checking what's been harmed.
In minutes it picks up again
The storm raging once more,
You want to seek some sanctuary,
You'd love to just withdraw.
It wages war around you,
You have to stand your ground,
Brace yourself for an attack,
Close ears to too much sound.
The intensity is fading now,
The worst of it is done,
One thing you are quite sure of --
The evening was not fun.
At least the thundercloud has gone,
The sky now shades of grey,
You've ridden through the wreckage
And survived another day.
