I look in your eyes and see nothing,
But you look in mine and see the world
For your taking.
My life is unfurled,
But yours is waiting.
I look in your eyes and see nothing.
If you think I have jewels,
And money; no rules––
If, tomorrow,
I look in your eyes and see nothing:
I will cast you aside without blinking,
And without a trace of sorrow.
But if, when we meet,
I look in your eyes and see a man––
Then I will weep
But be yours to the end.
But as of today?
I look in your eyes and see nothing.
