One evening in January, more than my exposed hands grew cold

Slowly overcoming me, the frigid air turned the earth still

How many days have been lost along with the hope of return?

Looking up towards the sky, it hasn’t changed at all

The purple world above merges into an orange horizon

If I reach out far enough

Maybe I too can become a part of this frozen dream

Surrounded by the colors that paint my memories

Before I can close my eyes and allow time to resume once more

Your silhouette illuminates the sky and before me

A sea of color passes by

Sinking to the bottom, I remember who let go of who

Our last exchange rewrites itself

And the sea quickly soothes the sound of my grieving

One evening in January, more than my exposed hands grew cold

Slowly overcoming me, I curl up tightly in my heavy winter coat

Watching each breath appear and fade, I forget about all the precious seconds that don’t hesitate to leave without me

By the time I can move my hands and reach for the sky, the setting sun has already said goodbye

Now darkness surrounds me but I don’t look away

Instead I count the dreams that light up the night and wonder which is mine
