Somewhere in the Namib desert, two travelling companions have just been robbed by desert bandits and are bereft of their possesions, water and their caravan

Traveller 1:

Can you believe this??? We got hijacked!...In the desert of all places!

Traveller 2:

Well…i can believe it sure. I mean it happened not too long ago. And if you think abo-

Traveller 1:

Stop!..just Stop.. Dont speak…dont sigh…dont even breath. Cause this is  all your fault!

Traveller 2:

(Thinking about a story where the héroes found themselves stranded on the desert and chuckles)

Traveller 1:

(Annoyed) What are you laughing at?! You think this is funny?

Traveller 2:

My firend, you dont even know what im chuckling about and besides your too worked up to  even care to listen  me. Say by any chance do you still have the map?

Traveller 1:

pulls it out. How can i forget this damn paper was the sole artificer of our doom

Traveller 2

I thought this was my fault. Dont go giving and taking blame willy nilly you know.

Traveller 1

Why would you ever want to be blamed for anything? Who would ever want that?

Traveller 2

A person whos not afraid of mistakes. I embrace the error of my ways. Can i see that map?

Traveller 1 hands it to him

Traveller 2 rips it to shreads and starts eating bits of the map.

Traveller 1 is left speechless and explodes punching his friend.

Traveller 2 Whatd you do that for? That hurt you know.

TRaveller 1 What is wrong with you? Why the hell are you eating pieces of the map

Traveller 2 Well, you have to ration food when your in the desert, you cant eat it all in one gulp

Traveller 1 (starts to get desperat)….im gonna die…im actually gonna die.

5 hours later

Traveller 1

Weve been walking for five hours. And i dont think were even close to the town

Traveller 2

(Still chewin pieces of the map) I wouldnt worry about it. Worst comes to worst, we can always use the phone to call for help.

Traveller 1

Im sorry, but did you just say we have a phone?

Traveller 2

Yeah

Traveller 1

(Takes a deep breath and struggles to maintain composure) calmy says. No you dont. You cant have one.

Traveller 2

Hah and why not?

TRaveller 1

Because if you did, that’d mean that all this time we could have called for help since the moment we were robbed. We wouldnt have to be dealing with this scorching and burning sun, the serpents and scorpions, wouldnt be thirsty and alone. Because frankly i dont know what would happen to you if your telling me that you have a phone on your person.

Traveller 2

What do you mean by that?

Traveller 1

You know, friends of mine have told me that i sometimes black out in the past and for a good while i never took that remark seriously, i thought they were messing with me. But i got curious one day cause so many people kept telling me the same thing and i went to a psychologist. They explained to me the reason why i would have these blackouts and they said that the mind can be very sensitive at times of extreme anxiety, anger and stress. They told me that the mind in moments of extreme pressure the mind can actually reset and  im not me for a few moments or at least the me you see before you.

Traveller 2

Come again? Your you but not you? You mean like another side of you?

Traveller 1

Yes. A side youve never seen. This other me, is an interesting fellow because he kinda acts like a fireman. He sees a fire and will immediately work to put it out.

Traveller 2

I dont see any fires here man. So he probably wont come out.

Traveller 1

Oh, You may not see fires but im starting to see the sparks

Traveller 2

(Enjoying the conversation delightfully asks) What are you talking about man?

Traveller 1

Im saying that whatever causes me to black out, this  other me will find and eliminate the source of this pressure…meaning you.

Traveller 2

Really? Thats very interesting. I never figured you for a violent man.  Why, youve always avoided violence as though it were a plague.

Traveller 1

Youve seen me avoid whatever could be avoid. Youve never seen me deal with situations where there is only one way to approach them.

Traveller 2

And which way is that

Traveller 1

(Looks menacingly into his eyes and) War

Traveller 2

This is pretty cool. Your looking badass man. Im starting to appreciate you as a friend all the more.

Traveller 1

Ill take your compliment. But enough about me. Tell me about the phone you claim to magically have.

Traveller 2

Now thats not true

Traveller 1

Im glad to hear you say that. Its good that youve come clean and owned up to that seriously lame joke

Traveller 2

What joke?

Traveller 1

The phone joke

Traveller 2

Im not following you

Traveller 1

(Starting to get agitated) I mean your  impractical joke about having a phone cause i distinctly remember the guy who stole from us took it from your hand.

Traveller 2

Well yes he did steal my Smartphone but thats not the phone im talking about.

Traveller 1

…Im sorry?

Traveller 2

Yeah!. Didnt i tell you i always carry a cheap phone to serve as a backup. Even has all my contacts and worldwide coverage. Pretty cool huh?

Traveller 1

Stares at traveller 2 in silenced perplexity for 5 minutes. Looks at traveller 2 in the eye and starts approaching him without saying a Word. Look at me and i want you to tell me what you see

Traveller 2

Gazes at traveller 1’s eyes. I think i see a Little red eye in them, you should get that treated man when we get to the town.

Traveller 1

The prospect of the Word town calms him down and he asks. Then why on Gods green earth and gods sand floor of this damn desert did you not say anything before?

Why did you keep this to yourself?

Traveller 2

…Didnt seem important at the time. We were having a lot of fun. Going treasure hunting in the desert and when we lost all our stuff, the thought did occur to tell you about it and then you said. We should make for that valley and that on the other side cause there has got to be some town. And we still hadnt found the treasure so i was really following your lead.

Traveller 1

What about the map? Werent you hallucinating and hungry. I thought you were seeing a mirage in the desert and thought that the cursed map was food.

Traveller 2

Well it was food…in a way.

Traveller 1

What?! What the hell does that mean? It was paper!

Traveller 2

Actually the reason i started eating it was because i thought itd be funner to explore the desert without a clear direction and that good luck would accompany us and by default make our search for the treasure that much easier.

Traveller 1

How the hell do you even reason?!And what does that have to do with eating it?

Traveller 2

Well the person that sold it to me explained that the material was actually edible and that it contains nutrients and even some magical properties and humidity too so got all the h20 i needed

Traveller 1

I..uh..i ..just call the pólice or whoever is in charge of picking up people stranded in the desert.

Traveller 2

Alright. Takes out phone and starts dialing when he notices there is no signal.

I dont have any signal. Probably had something to do with that sign

Traveller 1

(Starts to get worried and furious at the same time.)  I know im gonna regret asking this but, what sign?

Traveller 2

The sign we passed hours ago, shortly after we were robbed. It said Warning, beyond this región there is no coverage. At first i thought it meant like trees or shades, stuff like that.

Traveller 1

you dont say

Traveller 2

Yeah i thi-

Traveller 1

(Punches traveller 2 in the face knocking him outcold). Your lucky i punched out your senses before i lost mine you imbecile assinine dumbass!

End of dialouge
