The soft whispers of the rain spilling from the clouds above, soon turned into pounding showers. The rain no longer softly hitting my skin, but now pummeling it like millions of punches, making my skin burn like fire. My vision was blurry, but it was even before  the rain started. My salty tears,  mixing in with the fresh, clean water of the rain, slipped in between my lips, leaving me with a lingering salty taste. Dewdrops were sticking to my long dark eyelashes. My long blonde hair covered my red, tear-streaked face. I leaned against the rough bark of a near-by oak tree. Thunder boomed and lightning shot across the sky, missing me by inches.
