This is an old poem of mine that I liked when I wrote it many years ago. I tried to improve it here for all of you. I hope you like it.

A bird flew to my favorite tree,

To preen a finely feathered wing,

And find perhaps a green laced branch,

To lay her tiresome burdens in.

 

And as she sang her songs of Spring,

And fluffed her feathers, brown and grey,

She peeked 'tween bits of string and twig,

To build a nest for futures in.
