If It's Kenya, She Will Come

I know I'll never get the guts

__to come up to you

So if you never come up to me

We can never be

I make no effort

__to distort my dismay

I am powerless

So I am not in control here

You are

If you never make any attempt

__to get at me

Than you're just not the one

__who is to love me

And I will move on

Closer to my death

And if I never meet her

Then that is just my fait

I'll always remember

__the love I had for those I've lost

And if it made me a "nobody"

__for not being able to keep them

____I can't let it break me

I truly have to be fine on my own

Not dependent on an existence of "true love"

But able to stand on my own

And only except love

__as an added benefit

An enhancer

But not an "must"

It gets harder and harder

To live by the words

__my brother would say

But as each day ends

__I must realize

____that I made it another day

________without anybody

Maybe I'm not onna find her

Or maybe you're not her

Because if you were

You'd have been mine

__before I had to write this

And all my troubles of finding you

__would not have placed me

____without you

You're just a pretty girl

And that's all you'll ever mean

If you never make an effort

To be with me
