Darkness. Empty blackness. Nothing to do, no one to speak with, no voice to speak with.

Quiet. Utter silence. Except for the occasional sounds of laughter and conversing of words, like hope on my ears.

Then-- light. Eyes open, skirt fluffed, stand tall, in position. Only allowed to spin to the sound of an old tune.

Music stops. I stop. Then, once more, darkness.
