she sure could hold her liquor
and i sure could handle mine
that's when we'd hold each other
while our blood turned into wine
.
it seems that we were blotto
early june to late september
when normal, i'm forgetting
so i'm drinking to remember
.
we spent our nights in rapture
with our speech and vision, blurred
and had no recollections
of the acts that had occurred
.
it seems that we were blasted
early may to late november
when lucid, i'm forgetting
so i'm drinking to remember
.
we drifted from each other
and our paths have never crossed
but i am sure she thinks of me
whenever drinks are tossed
.
it seems that we were snockered
early march to late december
when sober, i'm forgetting
so i'm drinking to remember
