When I was a young girl, I was promised the whole world. Happy endings and castles, made out of gold. But now that I'm wiser, those dreams have expired. Fairy tales grown weaker, the more that they're told. It won't be easy tonight. When you look into those innocent eyes. When you're giving hope, to a future unknown. Maybe they'll forgive the lies that you told. Sleep now. Sleep sound. Sleep now. Sleep sound.

Rain won't always bring you a rainbow. But they keep searching the sky for lost hope. How easy it use to be, how simple we use to be. Flowers won't live, longer than normal. But they keep them close, on a wintery window. How easy it use to be, how simple dreams use to be. It won't be easy tonight. When you look into those innocent eyes. When you're giving hope, to a future unknown. Maybe they'll forgive the lies that you told. Sleep now. Sleep sound. Sleep now. Sleep sound.

When I was a young girl, I'd travel the whole world. With nothing but my knowledge of planes and my hope. But now that I'm older. My dreams have grown colder, like the flowers I'd plant, deep in the snow. It won't be easy this time. When you look into those innocent eyes. When you're giving hope, to a future unknown. Maybe they'll forgive the lies that you told. Sleep now. Sleep sound. Sleep now. Sleep sound.
