I wrote this after an intense week with a bunch of family. I don't quite know the meaning yet but I think it's significant in a way.

As time flies by I see the sky

It's dark, gray and looks so shy

It seems as night is about to fall

Go to sleep they tell us all

My dreams are filled with black and white

Yet in the day I see color with all its might

Green, red, purple, and blue

They all seem so beautiful to you

But never have I ever seen a color that resembles you.

I open my eyes

I have realized now that my love for color has been jeopardized

Colors are great

But the dark is my fate

In the dark I can think

In the dark I can be rebuilt

I am at peace

I cease to believe that color will ever be the same

Dark is no longer dark enough

I wish I could be tough

I'm not the same girl

All I can hear are screeching cries

The tears are rolling down my eyes

The years have passed and my eyes have dried

But yet I feel like I've died

I look at my wrists

Only to notice

The pain is still there

I have just been unaware

I have learned to distract myself from what's inside

Only you can help set the razor aside

Years later, you have found another

Maybe life isn't supposed to be like my mothers

I'm not getting better

I'll leave a letter
