Emptiness of night, darkness of clouds,

The fading of lights, silence of the crowds -

Things fall apart around me:

Claustrophobic loneliness

And my heart is only filled

With pure voidness.

But time freezes as a star

Ascends into the sky.

Her light, her halo, passes through the clouds

Right into my eyes

And my heart...

And my soul...

O! This gift from heaven! Symbol of beauty!

And this moment

I know. My heart knows. My soul knows

And this light

Is my life's longing goal.

Every moment I fear this light will be gone

Back into lifeless darkness do I be thrown

But the star is still there.

Her light always fighting through the clouds -

The only thing worth living for.

O! But so distant! So out of reach!

Her ethereal beauty so untrue!

I dream on in this dream.

I dare to hope.
