Walking The Plank

Why do you make me walk the plank
One step at a time?
I wish that you'd explain to me,
I know not what's my crime.

A further step, it starts to dip,
Below me is the sea.
How can I defend myself
When knowledge is the key?

A punishment is what it is,
But what did I do wrong?
I close my eyes and hope to wake
Somewhere that I belong.

And still you push me to the edge,
Please, just tell my why;
I'm glad I've got my back to you
So you won't see me cry.

I have done what I've been told,
Have learnt not to talk back,
But something seems to be derailed
And I am off the track.

You look at me with eyes of hate
And that malicious grin,
I know that you're enjoying this,
The pain you've put me in.

The sharks, they are now circling,
They're waiting to be fed,
They want to see the sea itself
Turn to a blood red.

I thought this was a torment
But I was just misled.
You're not going to change your mind,
It seems you want me dead.

You've been my judge and jury,
You've decided on my fate;
I'll never know what I did wrong
And now it is too late.

The plank, it bends and tips me,
You've really done the deed,
And I am left to drown alone
With just the sharks I feed.
