In the late afternoon,

With the flowers in bloom,

A walk in the park is fine.

There is no reason to hurry,

Even the ducks don't scurry,

Everyone's taking their time.

The summer sun is a menace

So I don't go play tennis

Or anything too strenuous, like that.

Just a walk in the park,

Just before dark,

Should help to ward off the fat.

I could stay inside, with the AC,

And munch on something tasty,

But that won’t get the blood flowing;

So I get out when I can,

At least that is the plan.

Oh shit, the yard needs mowing!
