I have written this poem to express my grief of a lost one, if you, reader, are experiencing a loss of a family member or friend, know that there are people who understand and care. This poem is about getting through the grief and rising above it.

Day by day I wane and fade
As time gracefully slips away
HE took him as all his dues were paid
Now I sit alone to my dismay

I said, "My heart aches to be with you!"
I saw him as he flew
The Angel if death flying with him
It mattered not the deed or sin

A race between sense and emotion
Irrational as can be
My mind in a state, in competition with fate
It cannot be...

Taking my beloved above and beyond
To where heaven and earth share a divine bond
With a heavy heart, I bid adieu
To my love and a life shared with you
