This is a poem about how I've been feeling lately.

I have gathered many fears,

Through all of my brief years,

Some bring intense terror,

But most bring me tears.

They say it's unmanly,

I say I don't care,

For I am who I am,

Even when I am scared.

I show my emotions,

Because it's hard to keep them bottled,

But sometimes I keep them in,

And suffer the consequences.

I lay in bed at night,

And I let my mind wander,

Sometimes it gets lost,

And doesn't come back 'till later.

I shed tears as I write this,

For I know why I'm down,

I am feeling like I'm lost,

In my own tears I shall drown.

Life is a long journey,

So take your time,

And maybe along the way,

People will understand why,

Why it's okay to cry.

Dear Reader,

Thank you for taking the time to read my poetry. By you reading this, it means that you have probably read some of my other pieces.

I'm sorry if it seems like I'm just relaying my problems when I write, because I am. See, a lot of people write things that they think people will like.

I say screw that. I write from the heart, mind, and soul. I write about problems that people, including myself, could have from day to day. I keep it real.

Every time I write I give the reader and even myself a dose of how hard life can really be. I say if you don't like reading about real life, then you would be better off

playing video games, or reading some sort of freaking fiction novel. SO if want real life, or writing from the heart and soul of someone who has seen and been through much of what

life has to give, then read on with me and my writing.

Thank You Much,

Matthew James Johnson
