Colours can say a lot about you.

True Colours.

What's your favourite colour?
You can have a few.
It could just be that those you pick
Will tell a lot of 'you'.

I will be the guinea pig
I'll give you an example,
I'll make my picks, there'll be a few
And we will make a sample.

Grey would have to be picked first,
Not light but veering dark,
I guess it's sort of blending in
Avoiding a remark.

Black, well that is obvious,
A sort of doom and gloom.
They won't be very far away
If I am in the room.

Some muddy browns and khakis
I find I like a lot,
Again a kind of camouflage,
A show-off I am not.

The only splash of brightness
Would have to be blood red;
Perhaps we shouldn't go there,
Enough of me's been said.

The vibrant shades of summer
And the blooming hues of spring,
They are pretty absent from
The clothes that I dress in.

The earthy hues of autumn
Are those I love the best,
The ones that I'm surrounded with.
Forget about the rest.

I know I haven't mentioned white,
It's not that I forgot;
It's just a bit impractical
So I avoid it quite a lot.

So pick your colours truthfully,
And wear what's really you.
If brightness is your happiness
Then put it up for view.

Or maybe you like sparkle
And a glitter here and there;
Well, add that bit of magic
For all the world to share.

Forget the trends and fashions
They haven't got a clue,
Wear your chosen colours proudly
And to yourself be true.
