I avoid all mirrors,

For my reflection never lasts,

And my hands have many cuts,

From picking up broken glass.

I grasp the empty air,

Hoping to find a place,

With no despair,

A safer place.

There is am imposter in my mind,

And it wants me to hurt,

It is hard to find,

And can be described in one word.

I've been taken hostage in my own body,

It seems like no one can help me,

So I leave behind me, and who I want to be,

And begin to form this sinister identity.

It seems like all hope is lost,

I'm no longer my own boss,

My heart is covered in a heavy frost,

So now I look for the white flag,

That I am meant to toss.
