Hyperbole.

Roll up, roll up and take your seat

It’s time for the media’s evening treat.

You need someone to shape your views

So tune in to the evening news.

We’ll tell you what’s happening with a slant,

Unbiased facts – deliver that we can’t;

Investors we need to keep us on air,

That has some control on the things we share.

You might get all the stories but there’ll be a spin,

There’ll be a viewpoint, a word fitted in.

You don’t need to worry, we’ll represent you

As long as you fit in and join with the crew.

We’ll tell you the good guys along with the bad,

We’ll name who’s to blame for the problems you’ve had.

But don’t think for yourself or you might not agree

And that wouldn’t be good for society.

Just listen to us and believe what you’re told

Or you’ll find yourself out and alone in the cold.

Impartiality – there is not such a thing

So let us call the tune with the facts that we bring.
