The waves of August come in heated motion

And if it weren't for darkness, all would fail.

Pushing back against those tides of precipitation

The evening breeze is greeted as a sail.

But even then, the night breeze is no helper

And it resembles more the oven than the air.

Be gone you August devil in beams of light

And show us, by your absence, that you care.
