Desolation

I am feeling desolate,

So lost and all alone,

So totally misunderstood

My confidence is thrown.

My words manipulated,

Intentions are read wrong,

Better to avoid it all

Hostility’s too strong.

It’s like stepping on a bed of nails

Or barefoot on broken glass,

Better to be gone from here

And let the feelings pass.

But escape is not an option,

It’s like sitting in a jail,

Waiting for another test

That I will surely fail.

I can’t express this feeling,

The blackness of my heart,

The despair it is just eating me

And tearing me apart.

Sometimes the words just fail me,

Don’t know just what to say.

My mind devoid of anything

To chase the blues away.
