The waves of August come in heated motion

And if it weren't for darkness, all would fail.

Pushing back against those tides of precipitation

The evening breeze is greeted as a sail.

We sail away to cooler thoughts and actions.

Under moonlight, an evening walk seems right,

But the more you walk the more the point is mute

So you sit and ponder shadow of moon-light.

For even then, the night breeze is no helper

And it resembles more the oven than the air.

Be gone you August version of a devil

And show us, by your absence, that you care.
