Heart Of Tears

My heart, it won’t stop bleeding

But there’s not a drop of blood,

It is bleeding salty tears

That from my eyes do flood.

It was me that put the knife in,

It was me that pushed it deep,

I’m the one who’s guilty now

For all the tears I weep.

I built up an illusion,

I walked into a dream,

I allowed my heart to lead my head

Where things aren’t what they seem.

I drifted to the future

When I should have stayed in place

Or I should have stuck to journeying

And left without a trace.

But now the tears don’t want to stop,

From red eyes they are flowing,

They soaked my pillow over-night

And show no signs of going.

I can hold back all the sobbing,

There is no need to cry

But these stupid tears keep coming

Until they all run dry.

The wound, it will start healing

But it’s going to leave a scar,

This time the pain is brutal

Cause I pushed it in too far.

Another fault line will be there,

It won’t take much to shatter,

After all, that’s not important

As it really doesn’t matter.

I’ll make it through another day,

The next and then another,

To anyone who sees me

It will seem that I recover.

That wound, it’s surely going to seep

Forever and a day.

Will I have learned a lesson here?

I really couldn’t say.
