There is bound to be a righteous soul

In this place that they call Sheol,

One that slipped by some angel's eye

And the gate-keeper never did know.

I searched the world for a plum

And found less wise than dumb,

They'd cut off their nose, as the saying goes,

And it fell in the pie with their thumb.

They cut the baby in half

And they do it just for a laugh

Then they realize, by the tears in their eyes,

That their child went out with the bath.

Some ride the religious Carousel

And for a while it really seemed swell.

I found out that sin was invented by men

And written in books that they sell.

Yes, there is bound to be a righteous soul

In this place that they call Sheol,

One that slipped by some angel's eye

And the gate-keeper never did know.
