Oh my joy, my happiness

Why art thou so precious to me?

Despite thy tender caress

In the end we all cease to be

Your beauty fades and wanes with time

Yet I keep searching, grasping to find

In my heart I yearn for thee

And in the soul, pulsing within me

Still I know the truth of life

Nothing is permanent in our daily strife

We were born, we live, we die

Buried beneath the sands of time

With this, everyday must count

Living each day, each decision, without a doubt

For life is short, so let’s live it

To the fullest, to the extent,

Forevermore…
