John, with an experience of over twenty years in various fields of marketing, had opened a new venture for providing home services. A client has to just make a phone call to his office or send a message. A call will be taken by the customer executive and based on requirement, a specialist will be sent to the client's home. John specialised in providing plumbers, electricians, door-fitters and painters.

The interview for the post of plumber was advertised, and in the final round, Martin and Edward were selected. Both had suitable credentials.

"What is your salary expectation?" - John

"Whatever you fix for me," - Edward.

"I need $3000 plus incentives according to my experience and the work I do," - Martin.

Edward was recruited as a permanent employee, while Martin was given the post of a temporary assistant.

The reason, according to John, was Martin can be given responsibility, while Edward can take leave on numerous occasions.
