I wrote this one late night years ago when I was super annoyed with humanity in general. I hope you enjoy.

Look at all the things we make.
All design of the creative human eye and hand.
Towers reaching higher than Babel,
yet our punishment this time is not mass-confusion,
but self-deception.

We delude the mind with dazzling artificial structures
and complex algorithms,
and we can barely see past the black pools
we hang on our decadent walls.
There's twisted humor in the fact
that the worlds in those very walls are becoming more realistic,
while the world outside is reduced to a blue and white newsfeed.
The machines have caged Adam's children,
and tricked them into thinking the prison is a paradise.

Those who escape are often brought to the ground
with the realization that reality extends past the black pool.
The cryptic language of God is all around and demands attention,
speaking wonderful and mysterious things of its Creator.
It is spoken by the trees and the grass;
it tells of Yahweh's absolute majesty.
The waves and the winds were taken aback by His authority
and were humbled and caried Him safe to shore.

Moons and planets dance around His words
spoken at the beginning.
The titanic power of the largest stars,
even they are at the mercy of God's ancient statutes.
All this grandeur in our backyard and yet,
we still wage war over bread and borders.
There is one word that describes the state of human affairs at large:
Insignificant.

Yes, look at all the things we chase;
war, power, car, reputation.
And then compare it to what the I AM made
in light of His loneliness,
and yet we ignore the unimaginably-joyful shouts
He makes through the language of His love.
Tree, lion, rain, galaxy;
it's all counted trivial to the average eye,
yet in many ways it is a more complex tongue
than any terran dialect.

So profoundly simple it is,
yet so significant all the technological achiement
of the human ages will never amount to its meaning.
It is quite simple:
it is Yahweh's silent letter
to all who would perceive it.
Oh, that we would hear it together.
So many problems on this world would be brought to dust.

But we are being distracted by things of lesser significance instead.
Rent is due,
car is being towed,
new cellphone has 13 megapixels,
Kanye is being foolish again,
Kim is wearing what?

The insignificant is of rabid importance.
How did that happen?
Were the devil's words really that convincing?
How was God's word replaced by the poison of a reptile
who had no business speaking in the first place?

Let the forest convene in its ancient wisdom!
Their rings record that which goes unnoticed by many.
Perhaps they can interpret the insanity of the Elders.
Let the glaciers and mountains release their layered opinions
on the lapse of human judgment.
God is surely informing them as recordkeepers.
When will Adam's children return
to the good word of the Ancient One?

Let those who would seek His mysteries and wonders be glad,
because they know where their hope resides.
Let the foolish somehow throw their eyes wide
and become wise for God's glory.
Let the significant become significant again.

Until then,
let the rocks cry out.
