A prehistoric night with a Tiger Fish

written by Kirno Sohochari

It was a midsummer night of September. The night was hot and gloomy. Cloudy sky covered the moonlight and gentle breeze forgot to propel its wheel. The night was sizzling on a fry pan. Peoples are sweating and they looked sadden. I was in a fish market. The market packed on Prehistoric citizens. They are my fellow neighbors, was born in a prehistoric town and now stuck on a fish market. Sticking in a fish market with prehistoric face is lovely! It recalls the gray line in your memory. You were in ocean then and swimming as a fish. The ocean was boiling like a reckless Tomboy and oozing its energy to create variety. Fishes are primitive as primitive your memoir is. They bring the smell of watery past you leave behind and now deposited it to the biologist. This night was truly biological and a Biologist entered into the fish market by hiding his identity as a fish.

It was a cloudy night of mid September. Peoples were in fish market and barking like a dog. The market was electrifying between the conversion of buyers and fish sellers. They used flat utensils for displaying their collections. Fishes had varieties in size and shape. Some of them are big and some very little in size. They trapped in Fishermen's net at the pick moments of swimming in a primitive river. They caught by the Fishermen when they were hitchhike in the muddy cave of a deep swamp. The cave was primitive in nature where we lived once.

The fish market was huddled by dead fishes. The big fishes are not in their existence now. Their eternal machinery is unable to oxygenate them. The machinery lost their contact with tons of water and deadly lying on the fish seller's utensils. Their dead cell differentiates the fate of a human and a fish. When we were in primordial ocean and waiting to born, we had no variation yet. The fate of existence is crosscutting our rules. It is pre-defined that a clever Fisherman trapped them in a net and we eat them as our protein suppliers. Their fate designed by the Nutritionist and destined in Biologist's lab.

The night was depressing. Peoples were depressed by the humid clouds. A witty Biologist entered into the fish market. A tiny microscope was peeping out from his apron. He was busy to examine the dead fishes and his microscope showing the toxic beauty of an expired fish. Some drop of water stuck on his eyes. He was crying like a barking baby. He barked on tears, "Oh my God! You are eating your historic existence only for protein. This is not fair. You forget the truth that fishes are the root of our existence. It is not fair to sale them only for some protein." The Biologist was crying like a watchmaker. Once he lost the essentials of his watch and failed to recover the tick-sound again.

It was a funny night of mid September. Peoples were sweating and laughing to see the Biologist. He was barking like a fish. People were thrilled to hear his witty howl. Their appetite getting stronger and tongue was watery to test the protein of a fresh fish meat. People's eyes were shining to see the ice-packed "Hilsha" fishes. The salty Hilshas were trapped when they begins their journey to the river. The river water seem treated magical for them. When they are jumping into the river by swimming thousands miles of sea, their salty body magically change. River water cleansing salts from their body and the Hilshas get a new life. They are now ready for ovulation. River water helps the fishes to born again. Their skin and flesh is soothing with new test and beauty, but very soon, it appears a killer to them. The Fishermen catches them and sells their beauty to the traders.

The night was sticky and silvery. It was a Hilsha fest night. They were in ice-pack and glittering like an ivory. The motion of fish market circulated among the icy Hilshas. The Biologist had nothing to do here. Soon he realized that it is a fish market and peoples are coming here for protein. Protein is necessary for life and Biologist be needed some protein too. He hid his microscope in the pocket and trying to catch the prehistoric smell of people once who were fish perhaps.

It was a fishy and smoky night. Smell coming from the utensils where dead fishes are waiting for auction. The humid cloud and the wind filled with prehistoric smell of dead fishes. People's appetite was humid too. Their eternity was hungered for Hilsha and many other fishes. They were hungry to buy Snakehead and Catfishes. Suddenly the wave started to behave in a different way. A giant fish appeared in the market and captured their sight. They pushed and gathered them to the fish. The fish trapped on a Fisherman's net and just now enter to the market for sell. It was really big and gigantic. They were calling it "Tiger Fish". Their appetite changed dramatically and they hurry on to the tiger.

The night was still fishy and smoky. Strange things were waiting to happen. The giant Tiger Fish was one of them. People were surprised to see the size of the tiger. They started talking with each other, "Oh! What a big shit it is! How he survived in the river-cave such days when inflation of protein is high and fishes are not enough to meet people's hunger! How it could be possible to hide his existence such a long days from the sharp eyes of fish profiteers!"

People's eyes were blinking to see the Mammoth like Tiger Fish. It liked that he was born at the ending moment of ice age when Mammoth divided his existence into two brunches. One brunch jumped into the ocean to test his fate as a Whale and another entered in the jungle for eating Banana tree. It proves that biology of existence is changing in time. Everything is fragile like a pottery. The beauty and beast are equally going to dust by changes of time. The fate of Ape and Human are similar, when bell rings they have to be vanished in void. Now it was the time for the Tiger Fish to be vanished in human stomach forever.

It was mid September. The cloud was humid and gently carried on the smell of corpses. Air was relentless to the giant Tiger Fish. He is dead now. He cleverly obscured in the deep cave of a muddy river for a long days. Thousands of Fisherman were sailing their boat to the river from thousands year but not to find him. Thousands time in history they tried to harpoon the giant and missed it. Their net and harpoon never find the "Deawla". The Fishermen uses the word to mean the mystic giant of water. "Deawla" is mystic and never be visible to anyone but his bubbling in water is eternal.

The night was amazing for the Fishermen. It proved the biology that nothing is eternal. Eternity is waiting for a moment when it breaks down to the dust. Time is coming now to sell the eternity of giant Tiger Fish. A Fisherman picked his big knife for slaying the big fish. The fish market rapidly turned on to the slaughterhouse. Floor is flooding by blood. The cloudy sky was not cloudy at all. The blood of a prehistoric giant scattered to the sky. To see the blood sucked sky, I closed my eyes with great fear.

The night was bloody and a witty Biologist getting wonder to see the monumental beauty of a prehistoric object. Thunder-buzz suddenly appears in the sky and electrifying the fish market. The light was soon cut-off and the market covering with dark. It was a dark night and a witty Biologist cheered up with joy to see the slaughtered fish, "Oh! What a marvel! This piece is the symbol of our extension. Alas! We are not back to the past! We were monumental once and now just turn on a protein sucker! What a shame for us!"

Peoples were amused to hear the Biologist. It got bigger when the dead fish spit some blood on his face. A tiny microscope was peeping out from his pocket. The Biologist was careless about the act happen to him. Some drop of water steadily hanging on his eyes. I hold my hand to his shoulder, "Let's go my friend. If you are not interested to eat the protein of a prehistoric fish then let's move to the market."

It was a Tiger fest night. Lot of strange things was waiting to happen. I was in fish market with a witty Biologist. After exile from the fish market, we are now walking on a road. The road was noisy too. An army convoy crossing the road likes a jaguar. Olive colored juntas soon covered the road. They looked historic and their face was stony. The witty Biologist picked my collar and said, "Hi! What is happening here? Why they exit from the barrack? Is anything-fishy wait for us? Public place is not suitable for them. They are beautiful in their hive. The siren is a sign of threat and not a good thing to hear. It is historic indeed, but stressful. I am not able to bear more stresses now."

It was a gloomy night. The sky was humid and reddened by the blood of a giant Tiger Fish. The road was threatened. Army raid capture the crowd and the siren quickly moves to the fish market. Fishy smell was smacking in the air. I closed my eyes with great fear and said to the witty Biologist, "Perhaps, the State Emergency is declared. Let's move to the cave my friend where you and I lived once."
